What our clients say

Biofuel Station Electrification, Kokkola

In summer 2024, Harju Elekter Group completed an electrification and instrumentation contract for a new biofuel receiving and handling station in Kokkola, Finland. The station was delivered by BMH Technology Oy to Kokkola Energy and is designed to increase the share of renewable energy in Kokkola Energy’s production.

Harju Elekter Oy supplied the electrical and automation switchboards for the system. In a first for the collaboration, Telesilta Oy carried out the on-site electrical contracting works at BMH Technology’s project site — extending a long-standing partnership between Harju Elekter Group and BMH Technology into full turnkey delivery.

The station was commissioned in October 2024, with Harju Elekter Group also participating in the cold start-up phase of the facility.

Electrification and Automation Behind the Vapaala Heat Transfer Station

Vantaa Energy and Fortum are set to begin heat trading in late 2025, which will allow the district heating network between Vantaa and Espoo to transfer heat produced by the most competitive methods at any given time, according to current demand. The district heating pipes were connected in October 2024, and the Vapaala heat transfer station is ready for the cold weather ahead.

The heat transfer station being built in Vapaala, Vantaa, with a capacity of 50 megawatts, will enable the transfer of over 400,000 megawatt-hours of energy per year between the two cities’ networks. This is equivalent to the annual heat consumption of nearly 22,000 detached houses, based on the average energy use of a typical Finnish home.

“On this site we have two district heating valves but one shared district heating line — much like two companies with one shared goal: to heat city residents as efficiently as possible, drawing on the strengths of both cities’ heat production,” says Juha-Pekka Manninen, project manager for the heat transfer station at Vantaa Energy.

Harju Elekter Oy delivered the process electrification and automation designs as well as the electrical and automation switchboards for the heat transfer station. Telesilta Oy installed the switchboards supplied by its sister company on site and was also responsible for all other electrical and automation installations at the heat transfer station. The project was handed over to the client in 2025.

Finnish Border Guard Coastal Patrol Vessels

In autumn 2019, the Finnish Border Guard (Rajavartiolaitos) and Uudenkaupungin Työvene Oy agreed on the delivery of seven coastal patrol vessels. The vessels were based on a prototype built earlier and delivered to the Finnish Border Guard in 2018. The final vessel of the seven-boat series was delivered in 2022, and since then all seven have been in active service supporting European border control operations.

Telesilta delivered the electrical, automation, and navigation systems for the vessels on a turnkey basis.

SWATH Vessel for Offshore Wind Farm Maintenance

At the end of September, Uudenkaupungin Työvene delivered the first SWATH vessel to Maritime Craft Services Ltd. The vessel is the first in a series of three; the second unit followed just a couple of months later.

“Offshore wind farms are being built further from shore and in increasingly demanding conditions. The industry needs reliable vessels for the maintenance and upkeep of wind farms. This vessel meets our customer’s needs well into the future,” says Juha Granqvist, CEO of Uudenkaupungin Työvene.

Telesilta Oy delivered the vessel’s electrical, automation, and navigation systems on a turnkey basis. Design work began just over a year earlier, and the systems were commissioned in late summer 2025. From an electrical installation perspective, the project was shaped by the limited space typical of catamaran/SWATH vessels in their submerged sections. Working closely with Työvene, the system equipment was nevertheless successfully fitted into the vessel and commissioned. Construction of the following vessels is already well underway.

“Our group’s tagline, Electrifying Tomorrow, comes true on two levels in this project. First, we electrify the vessel, and in its final use, the vessel will serve an increasingly electrified society by maintaining offshore wind farms,” says Joonas Puustelli, CEO of Telesilta Oy.

Wood Chip Handling Line, Sappi Kirkniemi Mill

In December 2025, Telesilta handed over the electrical and automation works for a wood chip handling line to BMH Technology Oy. The line was commissioned at Sappi’s Kirkniemi mill. Work began in summer 2025, and the installations included switchgear and lighting installations, as well as cabling and connections for various systems. Harju Elekter Oy supplied the switchgear along with electrical and automation design for the site. Telesilta also took part in commissioning the line, after which BMH continued with trial runs on site.

Submersible Barge “Harry” for Rauma Marine Constructions

In spring 2025, Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) acquired the submersible barge Harry for its upcoming demanding projects. The barge allows the hulls of various vessels to be safely launched into the water.

Before commissioning, the barge underwent a major refurbishment. Telesilta designed and delivered new power supply equipment for the ballast system, which plays a key role when submerging and raising the barge. The refurbishment also included upgrades to the shore power supply and main switchboards, the addition of a new camera system, and, among other things, maintenance of the power supply to the winches. A test submersion of the barge was carried out in April, and everything went as expected. The barge was used for the first time in May for a vessel launch, which proceeded as planned and the vessel was safely launched into the water.

Battery Production Line Electrification, Valmet Automotive

Telesilta and the Harju Elekter Group aim to promote a sustainable society by offering future-proof solutions for our customers. At Telesilta, we carry out installation projects that deliver sustainable solutions for our customers’ power distribution needs. We are strongly involved in projects that advance the green transition.

In spring 2023, we completed the electrical installation works for a new battery production line at Valmet Automotive’s Uusikaupunki plant. The project was completed on schedule and within the agreed budget.
